ANZAC DAY IN THE UK
FRIDAY 25 APRIL 2008
5.00am: DAWN SERVICE, NEW ZEALAND WAR MEMORIAL,
HYDE PARK CORNER
This year the main service will take place at the New Zealand War Memorial which is diagonally opposite the Australian War Memorial. Following the service, wreaths will be laid at the Australian War Memorial. This service is open to the public, is a non-ticket event and lasts approx 40mins.
11.00am: WREATH LAYING SERVICE, THE CENOTAPH, WHITEHALL
The High Commissioners for Australia and New Zealand lay the first wreaths at 11.00, followed by representatives of other countries whose armed forces fought in the Gallipoli campaign, as well as representatives from various service and ex-service organisations. This is a non-ticket event, please carry photo ID for security checks, and arrival before 10.30 is recommended. This service will conclude at approx 11.10, allowing time for the short walk to Westminster Abbey.
Ex-servicemen and women are welcome to join the parade. Please contact the High Commission for entry tickets and joining instructions (see below for contact details).
12.00noon: COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE, WESTMINSTER ABBEY
Complimentary tickets are required to attend this service and can be obtained from the Australian High Commission. You can apply as follows:

Tickets are restricted to six individuals per application. Please state the full name and address of each applicant; details of photo ID (i.e. passport or driving licence) which will need to be produced at the Service and UK postal address for forwarding tickets. Tickets will not be available until late March 2008.
The Abbey have requested that all attendees be seated by 11.30. As security screening will be in operation at Westminster Abbey and to avoid unnecessary delays, you are requested to limit what you are carrying to an absolute minimum. The services lasts approx one hour.
ANZAC Weekend at the Imperial War Museum
THE DIGGER AND LARRIKIN LIVE ON will be a weekend of films, talks and readings exploring the impact of military conflict on the political and cultural identity of Australia and New Zealand, organised with the Menzies Centre for Australian Studies, King's College London.
