Fees for Australian Passports

Payment can be made by debit/credit card (except American Express or Diners), postal order or cash. As fees are subject to exchange rate fluctuations and/or increases in the passport fees, you will be charged the fee applicable on the date your application is received. Please complete a Payment Authorisation slip (pdf) or Payment Authorisation slip (Word Doc).

We do not accept payment by cheque. 

* Fees are non-refundable after lodgement.

** Priority processing is not available for multiple name change applications.

Processing Times for Australian Passports & Priority Service

We aim to issue passports within 10 working days of receipt of a complete application, e.g. a correctly completed application form with all the required supporting documents, including photographs which meet the guidelines. Your new passport will be posted by Special Delivery at an additional cost of £5.00 per passport. This Special Delivery fee is mandatory. (See delivery of passports, below)

If you pay the Priority Processing Service (PPS) fee,  the passport will be processed within 2 working days. 

Applicants lodging in Edinburgh under the PPS must provide a Special Delivery envelope to send the passport application to London. The 2 working days begins when the application is receipted in the London office.

If you lodge your application by post and wish to use the PPS, please write "Priority Processing Service" on the front of the envelope in which you send your application to us.

A separate PPS fee is payable for each application lodged.

Following complaints about the UK postal service and given the close connection between passport fraud and border and national security issues, tighter controls have been introduced for delivery of Australian passports within the UK.

Both your new and your old passports will be returned to you separately by special delivery at an additional cost of £10.00 in total. If your application is incomplete or incorrect, we will return the application form and supporting passport/documents to you by special delivery for which a charge of £5.00 will be made. **
