Where to apply for a Passport in the UK
Eligibility to lodge by post
If you are applying to renew a passport which was issued after 20.8.1986 and with an original validity of 2 years or more, the application must be lodged by post to the London office.

The London office will be closed on UK public holidays and on certain Australian public holidays.
All correspondence to the Passport Office must include your daytime telephone number.

The Edinburgh office will be closed on all Scottish public holidays and on the following dates -
22 December 2008 - 5 January 2009 inclusive
3 February - 5 February 2009 inclusive
The Edinburgh office does not operate an appointment system.
Completed applications can be lodged in person at the Edinburgh office but they do not accept postal applications as these must be sent to the London office.
Passports must be posted back to your UK residential address.
We do not offer a collection service.
