Student visas

You are not required to complete a paper application form or send your passport to the Immigration Office in London if you are an assessment level one student. All Assessment Level 1 applicants, including British and Irish can apply online.

If you are not eligible to apply online you should lodge a paper application at the London office. Information on student visa eligibility, forms, fees and application procedures can be found on the Department’s website.

Student Visa Paper Application Checklist

1	Completed Form 157A See: www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/157A.pdf
2	Application charge. See: Application charges (fees)
3	Valid passport for each person, with at least one free visa page.
4	Your Certificate of Enrollment or Letter of Offer, as applicable.
5	Evidence of funds as applicable.
6	IELTS test result, if applicable. It is recommended you undertake IELTS testing before lodging your application. Your IELTS test result must be less than 2 years old on the date you lodge your application.
7	UK clients should provide a pre-paid, self addressed special delivery envelope, size C5 large enough for the return of your documents. The London office will make alternative arrangements for the return of documents for clients in Ireland.
